Posture 1 - Yù Bèi Shì

Preparation Instruction (Fig 7-1) Stand up straight, eyes level, lips lightly closed, teeth together lightly. (Facing South, back to the North)

Instruction 1 (Fig 7-2) Slowly sink the body.

Instruction 2 (Fig 7-3) Lift the left foot.

Instruction 3 (Fig 7-4) Open the left foot to the side a shoulder's width.

Instruction 4 (Fig 7-5) Lower the heel of the left foot, move the center to between the legs, sink the qi into the dan tian.

Note: You must stand erect but not rigid. The topmost energy leads upward. Lips are lightly closed. Teeth are slightly touching. The jaw is drawn in slightly. The shoulders are relaxed, chest in. Bend at the waist. Bend the knees and relax the hips. Let your mind calm down
