Posture 30 - Zuǒ Cā Jiāo

Instruction 1 (Fig 7-315) The body turns 90° to the right, the right foot landing on the heel, toes pointed out. The hands rotate out and cross in front of the chest.

Instruction 2 (Fig 7-316) The body squats as it turns 90°. The hands are raised to the top of the head passing in front of the chest.

Instruction 3 (Fig 7-317,318) The center of gravity moves to the right leg, the body rises. Simultaneously, the left foot kicks upward to the left side and the hands strike down to both sides from above, the left palm striking the top of the foot whereupon the left leg is lowered. (Facing South)

Note: In the left right foot slap, the fajin of the lower extremities is principal. When the hands "ni chan" to cover above, note that bending at the waist is key, the hands moving to cover is secondary. In this action there is rising and falling. When the hands strike down and the feet kick up, the body leads the hands and the energy is emitted from within.

Posture 31 - Zuǒ Dēng Yī Gēn

Instruction 1 (Fig 7-3l9,320,32la/b) The right foot sinks in, the body turns to the left 180°. Simultaneously, the left foot comes down beside the right foot, toes touching the ground and the hands descend from the sides coming together in front of the abdomen.
