Instruction 2 (Fig 8-145 to 148) The body first turns left then turns right, the center of gravity shifts to the right foot, the left foot cross-steps behind the right, touching down with the ball of the foot. Simultaneously the right hand first circles in then circles out, arcing to the left passing in front of the chest, elbow bent, to the right front, palm tilted downward. The left hand first circles out then circles in, downward and rightward arcing to in front of the abdomen, palm tilted upward.

Instruction 3 (Fig 8-149,150) The body turns left, the center of gravity shifts left, the left foot stabilizes, the right foot takes a horizontal step to the right side. Simultaneously the left hand circles out arcing up to the left front, the right hand first circles out then circles arcing down to in front of the abdomen. Repeat this movement three times, cross-stepping three times.

Instruction 4 (Fig 8-151,152) The center of gravity shifts right, the body turns 180° to the right, the left foot is raised along with the body turn then takes a horizontal step to the left. The right hand circles out, the left hand circles in, arcing to upward péng, the right hand to the upper, the left hand to the lower left. (Facing North)

Instruction 5 (Fig 8-153...159) The body first turns right then turns left, the center of gravity moves left. The left hand first circles out then in arcing upward to the right passing in front of the chest, to the left upper front, palm facing out.The right hand first circles out then in arcing downward and to the left to in front of the abdomen, palm facing up. Simultaneously the right foot toe steps to the left rear, following which the left foot steps horizontally to the left. The left hand arcs down to in front of the abdomen, the right hand arcs up to the right front. Eyes to the left front. (Facing North)
