Instruction 2 (Fig 6-150, 151, 152) The center shifts to the left leg, the body turns to the right 180°, the right leg is raised and follows the body in the turn, stepping back quickly. Simultaneously, the palms, following the turning motion, swing up then press down in front of the body, the right up, the left down. (Facing due West)
Note:
1. When turning 180°, the whole body must follow in a smooth,
continuous way. The right heels strikes the ground pressing down along
with the right palm, the movement of the lower left arm must be consistent
with this motion as the left hand move to the front.
2. "Shān Tōng Bèi" also called "Sān Tōng Bèi". As the
body motion twists left then right, the inner energy follows
the two vessels Ren Mai and Du Mai, circulating through the Three
Circuits, passing through the left and right back three times, hence the
phrase "Sān Tōng Bèi". As for "Shān Tōng Bèi",
this refers to taking the energy coming from the rear to draw your opponent
into emptiness and quickly lift him out.
