Instruction 4 (Fig 6-32, 33, 34) The body turns left, the center moves to the right leg, the left leg is brought in to the side, toes touching the ground. At the same time, the hands rotate out, the left downward, the right upward arcing open, palms facing out. (Facing East)

Note: This posture is representative of large opening and large closing. The opening and closing of the upper limbs must be coordinated with the exchange of emptying and filling in the legs. The hands close when the feet open, the hands open when the feet are brought together. The two times the right elbow is raised, it is not necessarily an elbow attack. When turning, the body leads the hands, making the movement completely circular and smooth. When the movement is just about to complete, the center is completely controlled over the right leg.

Posture 4 Shàng Sān Bù
