Posture 23 Hòu Zhāo

Instruction (Fig 6-222, 223, 224) The center shifts to the right leg, toes of the left foot touching the ground. Simultaneously, the hands arc from the left down and to the right moving out in front of the body. The left hand is directly in front of the left abdomen, the right hand is directly in front of the right chest. (Facing North)

Note: In Qìán Zhāo and Hòu Zhāo, what's important is rotating the waist and turning the back, rotating the ankles and turning the knees. When rotating up and down, left and right, the whole body must follow steadily, the whole moving as one. When the body rotates to the left in "Qìán Zhāo", pay attention to relaxing the left hip, sinking the right shoulder, and bringing the left knee together with the right knee. When the body rotates to the right in "Hòu Zhāo", pay attention to relaxing the right hip, sinking the left shoulder, and the knees coming together.
