Instruction 7 (Figures 9-173, 174): Shift your center of gravity to the right, while simultaneously rotating your hands inward to meet. Left hand retracts to the left chest, right hand grips the fist and retracts to the right hip, with the palm facing upward.
Instruction 8 (Figure 9-175): Turn your body to the left, step with the right foot, shift your center of gravity to the left, while simultaneously swinging the left arm backward and striking forward with the right fist (facing southeast).
Note: The "rolling and releasing" technique requires a display of rolling power: when rolling, the elbow should be lowered to make the fist tight; when releasing, first tighten the fist, then separate and release it. Rolling and releasing is the foundation of dynamic movement and should not exceed the boundaries of your foot circle.
This posture involves a powerful right foot strike and right fist punch, requiring the display of Taijiquan's powerful force. The movement and force of Taijiquan are inseparable, achieving a balance between softness and hardness, and flexibility and agility.
