Posture 40 Wō Dǐ Pào

Instruction 1 (Fig 8-391) The body turns slightly right, the left foot raised. Simultaneously the right fist grabs to the front, palm facing down, the left arm expands to the rear, palm facing rearward. Eyes to the front. (Facing West)

Instruction 2 (Fig 8-392,393) The left foot steps across and drops to the ground, immediately followed by raising the right foot. The left fist circles inward in an arc, the hands cross in front of the chest, both palms facing up. Eyes to the front.

Instruction 3 (Fig 8-394,395) The right foot opens with a horizontal step to the right, the body swiftly turns left, the center of gravity quickly shifts right. Simultaneously the right fist circles out striking out to the right side and down, palm facing down, the left elbow strikes inward with the same speed. Eyes to the right fist. (Facing South)

Note: The steps forward must be nimble, the hands opening within closing, closing within opening, the arms coordinated with the stepping. When practicing one can also jump step.

Posture 41 Huí Tóu Jǐng L2 Zhí Rù

Instruction 1 (Fig 8-396) The body turns right, the center of gravity shifts right. Simultaneously the left hand changes to a fist moving downward to below the right wrist. The fists cross at the wrist, palms facing down. Eyes to the lower right.

Instruction 2 (Fig 8-397) The body continues turning right, the left foot following the body turning right steps to the right side (could also be a jump), the left foot is turned in. (Facing West)
